Ireland is in United Kingdom and Colombia is in South America. For Christmas in Colombia the families make the Crib, Christmas Tree with many color lights and they decorate all house with Christmas objects like figures of Saint Claus and bells, the colors use are green, red, white and blue; also families do THE NINTH that is for remember the history of Son of God arrival, from December 16 to December 24.
In Ireland make the Crib like principal decorates, but some people also make Christmas tree. Both countries celebrate on December 8th, The Candles day in Colombia where all families
light candles and lanterns and in Ireland the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, is a Catholic Church holiday and Catholic Schools close all day, but shopping centers and stores not close, because this day begins the shopping season.TRADITIONAL FOOD AND DRINK
In Colombia people cook Ajiaco or Tamal accompanied by chocolate and French bread, the most popular desserts are buñuelos, cornstarch pudding and sometimes cookies; they drink beer and aguardiente or some people drink wine or champagne.
In Ireland people cook Goose; this is the most traditional food, roast turkey and ham too, accompanied by bread stuffing, roast potatoes, mashed potatoes, gravy and sometimes cranberry or bread sauce. There are different posibilities about desserts, like Christmas pudding, mince pies or a slice of Christmas cake.
